Jay-Z will be the main performer at the Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show, scheduled for February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. This news was announced during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys-Philadelphia Eagles game.

Apple Music mentioned the announcement with a post tagging Jay-Z, emphasizing the magnitude of his upcoming performance. Jay-Z expressed his excitement, reflecting on his journey from his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, to the Super Bowl stage. This performance is the culmination of 30 years of his musical career.

Puck News previously reported that Jay-Z was chosen over other potential performers such as Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, and Harry Styles to headline the event.

Jay-Z and his entertainment company, Roc Nation, have been involved in producing and selecting artists for the Super Bowl Halftime Show since 2019. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell praised Jay-Z’s influence and expressed his anticipation for the upcoming performance. Goodell had long hoped for Jay-Z to take the stage when the timing felt right.

The rapper, familiar with SoFi Stadium, performed there recently during his Jay-Z 30 Tour. This tour marked the 30th anniversary of his debut album and included three successful shows at Yankee Stadium, grossing over $42 million.

Jay-Z holds 25 Grammy Awards and was the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. His last album, 4:44, was released in 2017.

While this will be Jay-Z’s first Super Bowl performance, his wife, Beyoncé, has previously headlined the show in 2013 and performed again in 2016 alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars.
