Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl LXI halftime show, announced Apple Music during the halftime of the Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles game. The event is scheduled for February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Apple Music shared the announcement on social media, humorously noting, “GOAT’s out of the bag,” and tagged Jay-Z. Reports indicated that Jay-Z was a top choice, with Puck News noting he was selected over Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber. TMZ mentioned Harry Styles as another contender.
Since 2019, Jay-Z and his company, Roc Nation, have been involved in Super Bowl halftime show productions. The rapper, 56, recently completed his Jay-Z 30 Tour with shows at SoFi Stadium on October 23 and 24. This tour marked the 30th anniversary of his debut album, “Reasonable Doubt,” from 1996.
Puck reported the tour included three consecutive shows at Yankee Stadium in July, earning over $42 million. Jay-Z boasts 25 Grammy Awards and was the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. His latest album, “4:44,” came out in 2017.
Previously, Beyoncé, Jay-Z’s wife, headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2013 in New Orleans and appeared again in 2016 with Coldplay and Bruno Mars in Santa Clara, California.
