U.S. Military Conducts Another Drug Smuggling Boat Strike

3 weeks ago 0

The United States military reported another strike targeting a boat accused of drug smuggling in the eastern Pacific Ocean. This fourth attack within a week resulted in the deaths of three men, bringing the total fatalities to 205.

According to the U.S. Southern Command, the vessel was involved in “narco-trafficking operations” and was operated by a terrorist organization. However, no evidence to support this claim was provided.

This strike is part of an ongoing effort against alleged drug-smuggling operations in the Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific. A video shared by the military showed a small boat being destroyed in a fiery explosion.

The series of strikes, which started in early September, had other attacks reported on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. These measures are aligned with the Trump administration’s stance of being in armed conflict with Latin American drug cartels, accusing them of supplying drugs to the U.S.

The U.S. Southern Command mentioned that Gen. Francis L. Donovan, the supreme U.S. commander in Latin America, directed the latest strike.
