Sydney Sweeney is embracing the festive season, channeling Kevin McCallister from the 1990 film Home Alone in a new ad for her lingerie and loungewear brand, Syrn. The popular Euphoria star has recreated memorable scenes from the holiday classic to promote her brand.
The video begins with Sweeney standing in front of a mirror, sporting a navy blue top under a cropped cardigan, her hair styled in loose waves. This opening scene mimics the famous moment from Home Alone where Kevin applies aftershave and lets out a dramatic scream, complete with Sweeney splashing liquid on her face and reacting similarly.
Continuing the tribute, Sweeney is shown in a burgundy loungewear set, holding a small white dog. An unexpected shadowy figure behind a curtain causes her eyes to widen, reminiscent of the film’s home invasion theme.
The advertisement, captioned on Instagram with “The Holiday Shop is officially open ♥️ Shop Hibernation Nation early access NOW,” garnered attention from fans who noted the clever nods to Home Alone.
Some viewers commented on the references, with one user noting, “I just realized that this is a reference to the movie Home Alone 😱,” while another humorously questioned, “Who on earth would leave Sydney Sweeney home alone this Christmas? 😱 😅”
Sweeney’s holiday campaign for Syrn also includes other Christmas movie inspirations, featuring her dressed as Cindy Lou Who from How the Grinch Stole Christmas and characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas. The latest release, Hibernation Nation, adds to the brand’s cozy holiday offerings.
Launched in January, Sweeney’s brand Syrn marks her expansion beyond acting and producing. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, she shared insights into creating lingerie that caters to various body types, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity.
“My designers are all women, and I have an amazing diverse team,” she said. “My models are a beautiful range of body types. I want to see it on every body. I can’t be the only model. I need to make sure everyone feels really good in it.”
Sweeney’s personal experience with lingerie shopping influenced her designs. She recounted shopping for her first wire bra in sixth grade, highlighting its lasting comfort as a key inspiration for Syrn.
Her commitment to creating comfortable, lasting lingerie for customers remains a driving force behind the brand.
