Anne Hathaway considers how her career has evolved following a year where she starred in five films. Speaking with Gayle King on “CBS Mornings,” Hathaway shared her surprise at having so many film releases in one year, expressing initial concern about the audience’s perception.

Her latest film, “Verity,” is set to premiere on Friday. Hathaway pondered the potential audience reaction, musing, “That’s asking a lot of people to look at you for a long period of time, but then I thought to myself, ‘What if it goes better than you can imagine?'”

Reflecting on her career journey, Hathaway revealed she has learned to “chill out” and is now “more open to the fun of it.” She emphasized the importance of connections and emotions, saying, “It’s actually just about the feeling and the connection that you have with other people. And I wish that I had figured that out earlier in my life but I’m so grateful that I did at all.”

Embracing Maternity Style

Anne Hathaway credited musician Rihanna for inspiring her maternity fashion during her promotional tours. She acknowledged Rihanna for “changing the game” with her maternity looks, which encouraged Hathaway to explore her style more creatively.

Expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, Hathaway shared her family’s excitement. “We’re thrilled. We’re overjoyed. What we’re really focused on right now is actually just taking in still being a family of four, because everything is going to change for us… We’re about to go through this beautiful threshold together,” she expressed.

Her Role in the Thriller “Verity”

In “Verity,” a psychological thriller based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, Hathaway plays Verity Crawford, a renowned author rendered immobile after an accident. Collaboration was crucial for Hathaway during filming since her character’s role required her to remain still on screen.

“When I knew my job was going to be very still in the frame and I wasn’t going to have the ability to move around and act and work with the audience, collaboration became everything,” she noted. The significance of small scene details was highlighted, and she explained how the team worked to achieve the “creepy and eerie” atmosphere required for the film.
