As the voting period in Alaska ends, Rep. Nick Begich, a Republican, aims to retain his seat this November. He attended a House Republican conference meeting in Washington, D.C., on February 3, 2026.
An independent candidate, Bill Hill, leads among primary challengers for Alaska’s statewide seat. Originally, Democrat Matt Schultz, a pastor from Anchorage, had been ahead of Hill in the polls but chose to withdraw and endorse the independent candidate.
The election process in Alaska allows the top four candidates from any political background, based on Tuesday’s results, to move forward to the general election. The polling stations will close at 12 a.m. EDT on Wednesday. Voting results are available through Decision Desk HQ’s live updates.
