Wyoming Voters Choose Candidates for Governor

1 hour ago 0

Voters in Wyoming are casting their ballots on Tuesday to determine candidates for the upcoming gubernatorial election. The current governor, Mark Gordon, is unable to seek re-election due to term limits.

Megan Degenfelder, who serves as the Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction, is running for governor with the backing of former President Trump. Trump’s endorsements have shown varied success this primary season, yet they remain sought after by Republican candidates.

Retired U.S. Marine Colonel Brent Bien, who was a notable runner-up in the 2022 GOP primary against Gordon, is re-entering the race. He lacks an incumbent opponent this time and has received support from the state Republican Party.

Additional Republican contenders include State Senator Eric Barlow and Curt Blake, a professional in rodeo production.

On the Democratic side, Ken Casner stands as the sole candidate. Having been the Democratic candidate in the 2018 and 2022 gubernatorial races, Casner is poised to become the presumptive nominee.

The polls are set to close at 9 p.m. EDT as Wyoming residents make their choices.
