Wyoming’s At-Large U.S. House Seat Race

1 hour ago 0

On Tuesday, Wyoming voters will select Republican and Democratic candidates for the state’s at-large U.S. House seat. This follows Rep. Harriet Hageman’s decision to pursue a move to the U.S. Senate, leaving her current position available.

In this predominantly Republican state, numerous candidates are vying for the open House seat. Among the Republican contenders are former Wyoming and Virginia Superintendent of Public Instruction Jillian Barlow, Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray, state Senate President Bo Biteman, military veterans Kevin Christensen and Richard Dodson, conservative activist Steve Friess, policy adviser for outgoing U.S. Sen. Cynthia Lummis, David Giralt, businessman Reid Rasner, and former state Rep. John Romero-Martinez.

Chuck Gray, one of the key figures, has aligned himself with the unfounded claim of widespread fraud in the 2020 election. He traveled to Arizona for a partisan review of the presidential election results in 2021. Gray secured the Republican primary for Wyoming Secretary of State in 2022 with former President Trump’s support, though Trump has yet to endorse any candidate in this House race.

On the Democratic side, the competition is between former state Senate Minority Leader Lisa F. Kinney and Elena del Real.

The polls are scheduled to close at 9 p.m. EDT.
