Actor George Clooney, known for his close ties with Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, has commented on the sorrow surrounding the death of Presley Gerber. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 65-year-old actor shared the immense grief the family is enduring, stating, “It’s one of the most devastating things that’s happened to our family. And their family is just … as you can imagine, it’s the worst thing that could ever happen to a family.”

Presley Gerber, the son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, passed away on September 20 at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica at the age of 27, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s records. He had checked into the facility on September 19.

Clooney has a longstanding friendship with the Gerber family and co-founded Casamigos Tequila alongside Rande Gerber. Due to their close relationship, he was affectionately known as “Uncle George” by the Gerber children. Following Presley’s passing, Clooney and his wife Amal were seen visiting Kaia Gerber’s residence in Los Angeles.

Sources told The Daily Mail that Clooney shared a close bond with Presley, often counseling him. A source mentioned, “George would spend hours talking to Presley.” Clooney’s support extended beyond conversations, as he reportedly provided Presley with guidance, especially after Presley’s DUI incident in 2018, offering advice such as, “Don’t do that, it’s not smart. Be careful.”

In the months leading up to his death, Presley revealed on Instagram his plans to undergo an “ibogaine flood dose,” a psychedelic treatment, at a wellness clinic in Cancún, Mexico. He expressed feelings of fear about the process, writing, “letting go of control didn’t come easy,” while acknowledging a larger force guiding him. He reflected, “I knew why I was there. I faced what I had been running from, and somewhere in all of it, I started finding my way back to myself.” He hoped it would be his final treatment.
