An Arizona Cardinals executive, Ryan Gold, has been suspended indefinitely for breaching the NFL’s gambling policy. Gold, the Cardinals’ director of college scouting, allegedly disclosed confidential information regarding the team’s picks for the 2026 NFL Draft. The league’s investigation did not reveal the recipients of this information.
League Investigation and Findings
The investigation also uncovered that Gold placed parlay bets on both NFL and college games. In response to these findings, the NFL emphasized its strict gambling policy, which prohibits NFL personnel from engaging in or facilitating any form of sports gambling, as well as sharing non-public information with third parties.
The NFL stated, “Although there is no reason to believe the integrity of any NFL game was affected, the League takes any violation of the Gambling Policy with the utmost seriousness.”
Cardinals Organization’s Statement
The Cardinals organization confirmed the findings and supported the league’s decision. Their statement indicated that only Gold was implicated in the investigation. They restated their commitment to NFL policies and their focus on the upcoming training camp and 2026 season.
Gold’s Tenure with the Team
Ryan Gold has been a part of the Cardinals for 13 seasons. He served as assistant director of college scouting for three years and was the college scouting coordinator for four years before his promotion to director of college scouting in June 2025. His responsibilities included managing the day-to-day operations of the college scouting department, evaluating draft-eligible prospects, and coordinating pre-draft events.
