Vance Chooses Focus on U.S. Midterms Over Israeli Elections

20 minutes ago 0

Vice President JD Vance has opted not to endorse Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s reelection campaign. Vance stated his intention to focus on U.S. elections ahead of the midterms, despite former President Donald Trump endorsing Netanyahu. Vance communicated his decision during an interview on ‘2WAY Tonight’ with Mark Halperin, saying, ‘I endorse American candidates, and that’s where I’m focused on in the midterms. So I’m not getting involved in Israeli elections.’

Vance clarified that his stance should not be viewed as either support or opposition to Netanyahu. ‘I’m not anti-endorsing him. I’m not pro-endorsing him. I’m not getting involved in Israeli elections,’ he emphasized.

This comes on the tails of Trump’s complete endorsement for Netanyahu, expressing strong support in a Truth Social post. Trump praised Netanyahu as a significant U.S. ally in facing Iran, stating: ‘Bibi Netanyahu has been a Great Warrior Prime Minister, and an even greater Partner for Peace in combating the Islamic Republic of Iran.’

Netanyahu responded positively to Trump’s endorsement, thanking him for his unwavering support and highlighting their partnership against Iran’s regime. ‘President Trump, my friend Donald — thank you for your extraordinary endorsement,’ said Netanyahu.

Earlier in the year, Vance engaged in another foreign political contest by visiting Hungary to support then-Prime Minister Viktor Orban, shortly before Orban lost his reelection bid. This instance in Hungary reportedly contrasts with Vance’s current decision regarding Israel.

The White House has not yet commented on Vance’s decision. Sophia Compton, a writer at Fox News Digital with a background in business reporting and journalism, compiled this story. Reach out with story tips at [email protected].
