“It looks like in the nearest time, Crimea will become an island. This could lead to some very unexpected consequences for Russians,” Fedorov declared on a YouTube channel.
Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged the intent to disrupt Russia’s energy supplies and tourism. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak indicated potential suspension of diesel fuel exports. This follows existing bans on jet fuel and gasoline exports, amid refinery maintenance delays.

Power outages in Crimea were attributed by local energy suppliers to ‘technical malfunctions.’ Planned restoration was expected within a day. Meanwhile, new security measures indicated rising tensions. The Ministry of Sport canceled events through September to ensure public safety.
In eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian drone technology has been crucial in combating Russian advances. Medium-range drones disrupted Russia’s front line supply chains, with long-range strikes targeting Russian oil facilities. Such actions boost Ukrainian morale and confidence. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed ongoing foreign support for Ukraine’s resistance.
U.N. Ambassador Andrii Melnyk reinforced Ukraine’s readiness for negotiations based on the U.N. Charter but stated compromise is limited. Recent strikes have changed the war’s dynamics, indicating Ukraine’s strategic advantage.
