4 minutes ago 0

Trader Joe’s is broadening its footprint by adding 30 new stores in 16 states. The grocery chain, known for its unique offerings and private-label products, will see two of its locations open this week in Anaheim Hills, California, and West Jordan, Utah, according to their official website.

The additional 28 locations, which are set to open in various states including Arizona and Washington, are listed under the category ‘coming soon’. A spokesperson for Trader Joe’s revealed that stores are typically listed three to six months prior to their scheduled openings.

We are actively looking at hundreds of neighborhoods across the country as we hope to open more new neighborhood stores each year.

Among the new additions, Bend, Oregon, Boynton Beach, Florida, and Phoenix are expected to be inaugurated in 2027, according to reports. Illinois boasts the most pending locations, with four planned in areas such as Oswego, Chicago, and Joliet. California, Florida, and Texas follow closely with three stores each.

Other states expecting new stores include Arizona, New Jersey, New York, and Washington, each with two stores scheduled. Colorado, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio, and Oregon will each welcome one store. With over 660 stores nationwide, Trader Joe’s continues its strategy to expand its presence.

Trader Joe’s has captured a loyal customer base through private-label groceries and seasonal specials such as Apple Cider Donuts and Pumpkin-Flavored Joe-Joe’s cookies. Despite the popularity, the company maintains a cautious expansion approach, focusing on real estate availability and supply chain considerations.

The chain began in 1967 in Pasadena, California, founded by Joe Coulombe. It stands out due to its product offerings and customer service, where employees are known for their engaging and friendly demeanor. This aspect even led to the shutdown of a rumor about flirting at checkout lines.

The store’s mini canvas totes have gained viral attention recently, showcasing high demand and interest among shoppers. Trader Joe’s expansion strategy, as explained by former Entrepreneur magazine editor-in-chief Jason Feifer, aims to maintain low prices and the unique in-store shopping experience known as the ‘treasure hunt’ feel.
