Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo recently announced the creation of her own music festival, Daisy Chain Fields. This new event showcases a lineup composed entirely of female artists. The festival is scheduled for August 29 in Irvine, California.
Headlining the festival will be Rodrigo herself, with performances by Garbage, The Breeders, Chappell Roan, Doechii, Bikini Kill, KATSEYE, Mitski, and Santigold. Special guests include notable figures like Sarah McLachlan, Stevie Nicks, and Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Daisy Chain Fields is built on the belief that joy, community and creativity can inspire meaningful change, Rodrigo shared in a statement to Newsweek. She emphasized her excitement about celebrating the artists and her gratitude towards festival partners.
Rodrigo aims to foster a supportive community by gathering women in music and organizations dedicated to empowering women and girls. Net proceeds from the event will benefit nonprofits advancing these causes. Further details are available on the festival’s official website.
Rodrigo’s latest album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, continues to receive praise. Rolling Stone describes it as a complex emotional ride, while Audio Ink Radio remarks that Rodrigo has truly settled into her own skin with this release.
