Judge Judy Sheindlin has announced her intention to leave television. A representative confirmed that her son, Adam Levy, will take center stage in a new courtroom program titled Adam’s Law, which Sheindlin created and serves as an executive producer. The show will debut in national syndication on Monday, September 14.

In her conversation with People magazine, the 83-year-old television icon revealed her plans to retire from the screen following the conclusion of her Prime Video series, Judy Justice, in October. Sheindlin expressed her desire to pursue other interests, avoiding the daily regimen of hair and makeup while continuing to share her messages with the public.

Adam Levy, Sheindlin’s son, has a background rich with both legal and entertainment experience. A graduate of Hofstra Law School, Levy spent time as a ski instructor before embarking on a career that led him to work in private practice and serve as the District Attorney of Putnam County, New York. He ventured into television in 2023 on the Prime Video show Tribunal Justice. According to Sheindlin, Levy possesses the charisma and presence necessary to helm an unscripted half-hour show.
