Hollywood’s annual celebration of television excellence is set to transition from traditional TV broadcasts to streaming. Starting next year, the Emmy Awards ceremony will be available on Amazon Prime, as announced by the Television Academy on Tuesday. This change comes through a six-year agreement granting Amazon global telecast rights to the event.
The Television Academy confirmed that the awards show will be accessible to viewers without requiring a subscription. The Emmys will stream in front of the platform’s paywall, allowing audiences to watch the ceremony free of charge.
This partnership marks a significant shift in how viewers can experience this prestigious event, potentially reaching a broader audience through the popular streaming service.
