Chicago Bears’ Potential Move to Indiana Concerns Fans

3 days ago 0

The Chicago Bears are considering a major step towards relocating to Indiana, which has sparked concern among their fan base. WWE NXT champion Tony D’Angelo, a native of Oak Park, Illinois, and a dedicated Bears fan, expressed his frustration over the possibility of the team moving to Hammond, Indiana.

D’Angelo shared his views with Fox News Digital, questioning the logic behind relocating such an iconic NFL franchise. He acknowledged the potential benefits of not moving to Arlington Heights, which is relatively close to Chicago, but found the idea of completely leaving Illinois troubling. “The Indiana Bears? That doesn’t sound right,” he remarked, emphasizing the significance of the Chicago brand.

Despite his current location in Florida, D’Angelo still values the tradition and history tied to the Bears’ presence in Chicago, specifically on Lake Michigan. The convenience and cultural attachment to the city make the potential move seem unreasonable to him.

Bears executives highlighted the possibility of creating a “world-class stadium” in Hammond, which they believe could transform the region. This development aims to connect Northwest Indiana with the South Side of Chicago and suburbs stretching north of the city.

While expressing his concerns, D’Angelo remained optimistic about the Bears’ upcoming season. He believes the 2026 season will be crucial for evaluating the team’s progress under quarterback Caleb Williams and head coach Ben Johnson. “It’s always Super Bowl or bust,” he stated, recognizing the team’s capability and resilience demonstrated last year. He reflected on their unexpected success, referencing how they won several games under tight circumstances.

This season, D’Angelo views as a defining moment for the Bears. While some fans might be skeptical due to the team’s inconsistent past performances, he maintains trust in both the players and the coaching staff. “I had full faith in the guys as well as the coach,” he concluded.

Looking ahead, D’Angelo is set to defend the NXT Championship against Naraku at The Great American Bash, which will be broadcast on the CW Network.
