Buccaneers Showcase Unusual Scoring Methods Against Panthers

26 minutes ago 0

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers showcased unique scoring methods in their game against the Carolina Panthers, establishing a 33-6 halftime lead. The Buccaneers scored eight of these points in unconventional ways.

One notable play was by cornerback Zyon McCullom, who secured a defensive two-point conversion. But that wasn’t all. Defensive tackle Calijah Kancey, weighing 280 pounds, made headlines with a big-man touchdown from a fumble return.

Kancey’s moment came after Al-Quadin Muhammad strip-sacked Carolina’s quarterback Bryce Young. Kancey seized the opportunity, grabbing the loose football and racing 32 yards to the end zone, completing the score with an athletic flip.

“None of that is typical big-man behavior.”

McCullom’s contribution wasn’t limited to the two-pointer. He intercepted Young later in the game, continuing a strong performance.

Despite the Buccaneers’ unexpected play, they hold a 1-5 record, sitting last in the NFC South. Baker Mayfield, however, returned to action after missing three games due to a thumb injury. He threw a touchdown pass to Tez Johnson, widening the lead by halftime. The Buccaneers’ 33 first-half points mark their third-highest in the franchise’s history.

The Panthers, starting the game as NFC South leaders with a 3-2 record, faced a surprising challenge in the form of Tampa Bay’s unusual scoring tactics.
