The White House responded to criticism from Ariana Grande after the actress objected to her song being used in a social media video about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests. A spokesperson from the White House, Abigail Jackson, stated that the real issue lies with criminal illegal aliens harming American citizens.
Grande, known for her role in ‘Wicked,’ expressed her disapproval on TikTok, asking the administration not to associate her music with what she described as inhumane actions. She commented, ‘please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense.’
The White House video, which featured her song ‘Bye,’ claimed that President Trump secured the most secure border in history. The video’s sound was reportedly removed as of Thursday.
Ariana Grande has been vocal in her opposition to the Trump administration’s policies.
Last year, Grande shared concerns on Instagram about the impact of immigration policies on families. She also opposed Trump’s transgender bathroom ban and participated in the Women’s March in early 2017. Additionally, she criticized Trump’s legal issues, highlighting the inconsistencies in the legal system.
Grande has previously shown support for Democratic figures such as Kamala Harris and performed at the White House during Barack Obama’s presidency in 2014.
Fox News Digital sought comments from Grande’s representatives without immediate response.
