Ana Maria Markovic has recently shifted from playing soccer in the United States to embracing her summer days. After one season with Brooklyn FC, she expressed gratitude before returning to Croatia to join Hajduk Split. This marks her fifth team since 2024.
Markovic, known for being on the OutKick radar, spoke at the Web Summit 2023 in Lisbon, Portugal, on November 14, 2023, following a major knee injury sustained in March 2023 at Grasshopper Club in Switzerland. This injury has affected her performance, with reports indicating she hasn’t scored a goal since.
The Croatian soccer player is undeterred by setbacks, however. Managing the Las Ligas Ladies, she celebrated a victory over Gönrgy Allstars in the Baller League Final Four in October 2024 in Duesseldorf, Germany. Hajduk Split provides her with new opportunities as they recently won the Croatian Women’s First Football League championship.
Markovic’s perseverance shines through. Despite being called the ‘World’s Most Beautiful Soccer Player,’ her focus remains on her career and personal achievements. Soccer matches continue as Hajduk Split completed the preliminary rounds in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, although knocked out of contention.
Looking forward, Markovic and her team are concentrating on the Croatian Women’s League schedule. Her journey reflects resilience and the determination to rise after challenges. With the season ahead, fans and supporters hope to see Markovic scoring goals and enjoying more sunny days.
