4 hours ago 0

Amanda Serrano, celebrated as one of the most iconic figures in boxing history, has announced her retirement. She plans to end her professional career on January 9 with a bout against Skye Falzon in Puerto Rico.

Serrano’s illustrious career has seen her rise from the early days of women’s boxing in modest venues to headlining major events like Madison Square Garden in New York. Her journey has not only been about individual success but also helping pave the way for future generations of female fighters.

She expressed how meaningful it is to conclude her career in her home country, saying, “To close my career at home in Puerto Rico, in front of the people who have supported me from the beginning, means everything. On Saturday, January 9, I’m going to give the fans one final night to remember.”

Serrano also highlighted the support she received from Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions (MVP). “Nakisa, Jake, and MVP believed in me and in women’s boxing, and together we’ve helped change what’s possible for women in this sport,” she stated.

Paul and Bidarian had high praise for Serrano, referring to her as the “MOAT” or Most Of All Time. They credited her for transforming women’s boxing by fighting for respect, equal opportunities, and fair compensation. Her partnership with MVP was described as foundational to the advancement of female fighters worldwide.

Serrano became a globally recognized name when she participated in major events such as her match against Katie Taylor, which was featured as a co-main event with Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson. Although she lost all three of her matches against Taylor, two were main events at a packed Madison Square Garden.

With a record of 50-4-1 and having won her last three fights since July 2025, Serrano aims to leave an enduring legacy, inspiring every female fighter who comes after her.
