U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed strong disapproval of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky following Kyiv’s resumption of strikes on oil facilities in Russia. In an interview with Newsmax, Trump described the attack as a “disgrace.”
The discussion during the interview focused on a recent drone attack on an oil facility located in Ryazan, a city southeast of Moscow. This incident occurred after Kyiv seemed to adhere to a truce concerning energy strikes, which Trump had declared unilaterally the previous week.
Trump criticized Zelensky, labeling him as “not a good guy for us to deal with.” He argued, “He doesn’t want to settle. He says he wants to settle, but he doesn’t.” Trump further stated, “All he’s doing is making the world oil price higher. Well, I think that’s a disgrace.”
Zelensky has also been vocal about his criticism of Trump. He has condemned the U.S. president for reducing sanctions on Russian diesel and implementing restrictions on the speed of the Starlink satellite network. These technologies are considered vital for Ukrainian drone operations and defense against Russian attacks.
This is an ongoing situation, and additional updates are anticipated.
