Bills Receive Encouraging Injury Update on DJ Moore

2 hours ago 0

The Buffalo Bills received some positive news regarding an injury after their tight 29-26 defeat to the New England Patriots. DJ Moore, the team’s wide receiver, exited the game in the second quarter due to a fall on his left shoulder following a pass attempt by quarterback Josh Allen.

Moore had previously injured this shoulder in Week 2, raising initial concerns. While he continued to play, his practice participation was limited. Sunday’s game loss led to worries about Moore potentially missing future matches if the injury worsened.

Moore did re-aggravate his shoulder. However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that this is “not considered a long-term issue currently.”

This is encouraging for both the Bills and Moore, as he might return for Week 5. The team benefits from an additional day of rest with an upcoming “Monday Night Football” face-off against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Bills will aim to have Moore on the field against the inconsistent Rams. Prior to his injury, Moore was Allen’s primary target, with 11 catches totaling 167 yards over three games. However, Keon Coleman emerged as the leading receiver on Sunday, accumulating 217 yards for the season after Moore’s early exit.

Coleman’s performance offers a chance to challenge Bills’ owner Terry Pegula. Pegula had expressed doubts about Coleman since drafting him in 2024, leading to his inactivity in several games last season. The situation shifted following Moore’s offseason trade from the Chicago Bears. While Moore remains the main offensive focus for Allen, Coleman has the opportunity to prove his value as a strong secondary option.
