U.S. Military Strikes Vessel in Caribbean, Allegedly Involved in Drug Trafficking

1 hour ago 0

The U.S. military reported a lethal strike on a vessel in the Caribbean on Sunday, suspected to be involved in drug trafficking. This operation resulted in the deaths of four individuals on the boat.

The U.S. Southern Command indicated the vessel was navigating known drug trafficking routes. They released a video showing an explosion that appeared to destroy a fast-moving vessel.

Under the direction of U.S. Southern Command, Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere executed a lethal, kinetic strike on a go-fast vessel operating along established narco-trafficking routes in the Caribbean.

The military alleged that intelligence confirmed the vessel’s involvement in drug trafficking, though they did not provide supporting evidence. According to their statement, the operation eliminated four individuals labeled as narco-terrorists.

This incident is part of a broader series of strikes initiated since September 2025, reportedly aimed at eradicating alleged narco-terrorists. Over 235 deaths have been reported due to these attacks. However, the Pentagon has withheld identities of those killed and has not provided evidence of drug presence on the vessels.

There has been criticism from Democrats, some Republicans, and human rights groups. Concerns focus on lack of due process and potential for innocent casualties, described as “extrajudicial killings.” Sen. Rand Paul, among others, has openly questioned these methods.

The administration is working to expand military operations into Latin American countries with the assistance of allies. Agreements have reportedly been made with Colombia, though Guatemala has denied such a deal. Ecuador began similar operations alongside the U.S. earlier this year.
