The WWE star Danhausen has been credited by a portion of professional wrestling fans for potentially helping the New York Knicks to clinch their NBA title by lifting a supposed curse. The Knicks’ star point guard, Jalen Brunson, had initially avoided commenting on the supposed voodoo magic happening off the basketball court. However, he acknowledged that he and the Knicks trainers pay homage to Roman Reigns before each game.
Brunson played a pivotal role in the Knicks’ victory, their first NBA championship in 53 years. He eventually opened up about Danhausen’s role in the Knicks’ success. ‘At first, I was a little skeptical. But, I mean, you have to believe it now,’ Brunson remarked during an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.’
Leading up to the NBA Finals, the excitement surrounding Danhausen had grown considerably. He was noted for putting a ‘curse’ on the Cleveland Cavaliers before the Knicks made it to the finals.
Danhausen addressed the situation on social media, writing, ‘DANHAUSEN KNEW THEY BELIEVED,’ and expressed gratitude towards Jalen Brunson, Karl Towns, and the ‘FallonTonight’ show for acknowledging his reputed power to curse and uncurse.
Brunson was named the MVP of the NBA Finals, averaging an impressive 32.6 points throughout the five-game series. His performance peaked with a 45-point game that secured their victory, contributing to another memorable comeback for the Knicks.
Danhausen made his WWE debut on February 28, 2026, at the Elimination Chamber event held at the United Center in Chicago.
Brunson had previously appeared on WWE programming, hinting at potential further collaborations.
