Wildfires Impacting Washington’s National Parks

Wildfires have ravaged all of Washington state’s national parks, with 95 large, uncontrolled fires threatening prominent sites such as Mount Rainier National Park in Washington and Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon. On Friday, the Border 2 Fire enveloped North Cascades National Park in Washington with smoke.

The scale of these wildfires is immense. As of Thursday, over 6.4 million acres have been burned nationwide. On Wednesday alone, officials reported 103 new fires.
