Two individuals sustained injuries in a shooting incident on a CTA bus in the Englewood area late Wednesday afternoon. According to authorities, the victims were a 57-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman.
The incident occurred as they were on the bus in the 300 block of West 63rd Street around 4:40 p.m. Chicago police reported that gunfire, from an unidentified suspect, struck both individuals.
The man suffered a gunshot wound to his left flank and was taken to UChicago Medicine in critical condition. The woman, also taken to UChicago Medicine, sustained a gunshot wound to her left arm and was initially in fair condition.
Detectives from the Wentworth Area are conducting an investigation into the shooting.
