Trump Shares Controversial Animal Attack Videos on Social Media

38 minutes ago 0

President Donald Trump posted two videos on Truth Social on Tuesday, both depicting big cats attacking people. The initial video seemed to relate to a recent tragic incident at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, northern England, where a man was attacked by a tiger. The 41-second clip showed an assault on William Chapman in the enclosure, but it did not display his death. Trump captioned the video as, ‘Don’t ever mess with nature! President DJT.’

Shortly after, Trump shared another 24-second video compilation of big cats attacking individuals, accompanied by music. He offered no commentary on this post. The authenticity of all footage remains uncertain, with potential for AI-generated elements.

The videos were also distributed via the White House’s Rapid Response X account. When contacted for a statement, the White House directed Newsweek to the posts on Truth Social. Trump has a history of sharing unusual visuals, including AI-generated images like a fictional Gaza resort and portraying himself as ‘King Trump’ targeting protesters.

The videos sparked confusion and backlash online. Ron Filipkowski, a previous federal prosecutor and Trump critic, mentioned on X his uncertainty about the posts’ purpose, suggesting either hacking or a message from aide Natalie Harp. Vanity Fair’s Aiden McLaughlin described the videos as ‘lion snuff films.’ Lawyer Aaron Parnas called Trump’s behavior ‘bizarre and concerning.’

Conversely, some supporters viewed the posts as warnings against underestimating nature. Ryan Fournier, founder of Students for Trump, interpreted it as a message to respect the wild, emphasizing, ‘When you cross boundaries and mess with wild animals, nature wins EVERY time. Respect the wild or pay the price!’
