Tragic Incident at Northern California High School Graduation

Officials reported a tragic shooting at a high school graduation in Northern California on Wednesday night. The event resulted in one fatality and injuries to three others. The incident occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. in the parking lot during Sem Yeto High School’s graduation ceremony, held at Fairfield High School, located southwest of Sacramento.

The Fairfield Police Department confirmed that one victim died at the scene. The other three injured individuals are currently receiving medical care at local hospitals. The conditions of these victims are currently unknown.

Mayor Alma Hernandez from nearby Suisun City announced on Facebook that an active search for the suspect is ongoing. Authorities have not yet provided a description of the suspect involved.

A spokesperson for the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District informed CBS News Sacramento that the incident took place after the ceremony had ended. Law enforcement agencies, including the Solano County Sheriff’s Office, are collaborating with Fairfield police to investigate the event.

Sem Yeto High School, a continuation high school, shares its campus with Fairfield High School. The authorities urge anyone with information related to the shooting to contact the Fairfield police.
