Aaron Rupar, a journalist known for his leftist viewpoints, has faced backlash after attacking a young female staffer associated with President Donald Trump. Rupar’s remarks on social media suggest a pattern of criticism directed towards Trump aides.

On Sunday, Rupar shared a C-SPAN clip showing President Trump near Air Force 1, accompanied by White House press wrangler Ellie Acra. Acra is seen directing media members politely, using the phrase “Thank you, press.” Press wranglers play a crucial role in managing media movements, ensuring the president’s schedule remains intact.

Rupar’s commentary went viral, eliciting support for Acra from the White House and numerous users. The White House’s rapid response account strongly defended Acra, criticizing Rupar for derogatory remarks against women in their professional roles. The account labeled Rupar as someone engaging in disturbing behavior.

Rupar responded by accusing the White House of inciting harassment through its remarks, claiming he received threatening messages following their statements. The controversy continued as Rupar targeted another White House aide, Natalie Harp, insinuating without evidence a dubious association with Trump.

Rupar highlighted Harp’s presence in Ireland with a hashtag #TravelWithNatalie, suggesting impropriety. The White House countered, emphasizing that staff routinely travels with the president, dismissing Rupar’s claims as sensationalist.

This situation coincided with criticism directed at Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., over remarks perceived as sexist and misogynistic about Harp. During a campaign rally, Ossoff commented on Trump’s alleged preference for leisure and travel with Harp, perpetuating unsubstantiated gossip.
