A young New Jersey woman, Victoria Zardoya, aged 20, lost her life in Florida during a vacation with friends. The group was exploring historic ruins on the remote Egmont Key when the accident occurred.

Zardoya was reportedly visiting Fort Dade on Egmont Key with her friends when she fell. The island, known for its historical significance, sits at the entrance of Tampa Bay and can only be reached by boat.

Among Zardoya’s close circle was Milania Guidice, daughter of Teresa Guidice from ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’. Tributes and messages of condolence have been pouring in across social media, E! News noted.

A friend, Victoria Silberbusch, provided a detailed account of the incident online. She described the group’s tour of the ruins and mentioned Zardoya’s severe injuries, stating that everyone acted quickly to assist her.

Help was sought by calling 911 and sending distress flares. Emergency services arrived by boat, and a medical helicopter transported Zardoya to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries two days later.

Silberbusch expressed that Zardoya was never alone during the ordeal. Everyone present contributed to the efforts to save her.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a response to an incident on Egmont Key on that Friday, with their activities concluding by 11:16 p.m. Requests for the detailed incident report have been made to the authorities for further clarification.

Fort Dade on Egmont Key remains a favored spot for tourists, particularly those arriving by boat.
