Teenagers Injured in South Side Apartment Shooting

Two teenage boys sustained injuries in a shooting incident when a gunman fired multiple shots into an apartment near the Auburn Park lagoon on Chicago’s South Side. Chicago police reported that the unknown gunman shot into the occupied apartment from a hallway in the 400 block of West Winneconna Parkway shortly after 4 p.m.

An 18-year-old male, hit in the neck, clavicle, and back, was transported to UChicago Medicine, where he remains in critical condition. A 13-year-old, struck in both calves, was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital and is in good condition.

As of now, police have not released additional information. The investigation is ongoing with Calumet Area detectives working on the case.
