Millions in the Southwest, including Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah, are experiencing Extreme Heat Warnings due to soaring temperatures. These warnings, issued by the National Weather Service (NWS), suggest temperatures could climb above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, with some areas nearing 120 degrees.

California’s deserts and inland valleys are under ‘Extreme Heat’ alerts. Imperial County could see temperatures from 107 to 119 degrees until Tuesday. Nearby areas, including the Coachella Valley and parts of San Diego County deserts, might reach 115 degrees.

Los Angeles County’s Antelope Valley is expecting temperatures of 100 to 110 degrees until Wednesday evening. Ridgecrest and California City in the Mojave Desert could hit 112 degrees, while Joshua Tree National Park is forecasted to see highs between 103 and 116 degrees.

Nevada’s Triple-Digit Heat

Southern Nevada remains under Extreme Heat Warning until Wednesday evening. Las Vegas and surrounding areas are seeing temperatures between 110 and 120 degrees. Overnight temperatures remain uncomfortably high, exacerbating heat stress.

Utah’s National Parks Affected

Southern Utah is under heat alerts, including Lower Washington County and areas like Zion National Park, where temperatures could reach 112 degrees. Capitol Reef National Park and other locations face temperatures from 105 to 110 degrees. Near Moab, Arches National Park is expected to hit 108 degrees.
