Singer Lauren Bennett of G.R.L. Passes Away at 37

Lauren Bennett, known for her role in the 2011 LMFAO hit “Party Rock Anthem,” has died at the age of 37. The news was confirmed by her former group, G.R.L., on Monday, July 6, 2026.

In an Instagram statement, G.R.L. expressed their sadness over Bennett’s passing. The statement was signed by members Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton, and Paula van Oppen. The cause of Bennett’s death remains unknown, and her representative did not respond immediately to requests for comment from NBC News.

Bennett’s voice was a key feature in “Party Rock Anthem,” which dominated Billboard’s charts for six weeks in 2011. This song was one of the two hits by LMFAO to achieve No. 1 status, alongside “Sexy and I Know It.”

The members of G.R.L. shared their grief, stating, “Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved.”

G.R.L. was formed in 2011 as a relaunch of the Pussycat Dolls, later adopting the name G.R.L. They gained popularity with songs like “Ugly Heart” and contributed to Pitbull’s hit “Wild Wild Love.” Sadly, another member of G.R.L., Simone Battle, passed away in 2014.
