Danielle Fishel, known for her iconic role as Topanga Lawrence on ‘Boy Meets World,’ has shared the secret to her health and well-being. At 45, Fishel has shifted her focus from traditional cardio workouts to weightlifting.
“I exclusively weight lift now,” Fishel explained during an appearance at the Tribeca Festival for her new project, ‘Doc Meets World.’ She emphasized the significant change weightlifting has made in her life. “I don’t do cardio anymore. I like to walk for 20 to 30 minutes after every meal, but lifting weights has made all the difference.”
The actress’s approach reflects a broader trend where more people are prioritizing strength training over long cardio sessions to build muscle and support long-term health.
Fishel’s revelation came during a reunion at the Tribeca Festival with former co-stars Rider Strong and Will Friedle. They reminisced about their time on ‘Boy Meets World’ and discussed their experiences in the spotlight.
Strong, who played Shawn, talked about his bond with co-star Ben Savage. Reflecting on their years working together, he praised Savage’s talent and the close relationship they developed. “We had this incredibly intense bond,” Strong said, recalling how Savage taught him the ropes of child acting.
Meanwhile, Friedle, known for his role as Eric Matthews, spoke candidly about the pressures of being a child star. He admitted there were moments he considered leaving Hollywood. However, his passion for entertaining ultimately kept him in the industry. “The love of needing to entertain,” he stated plainly.
‘Boy Meets World’ aired on ABC from 1993 to 2000, leaving a lasting impact on fans and the cast alike.
