After a vibrant summer featuring a performance at Lollapalooza and the debut of her mixtape, Sherrionn, an R&B artist and 2012 Crete-Monee High School graduate, eagerly anticipates the next phase of her career. “Planning on dropping another project soon,” Sherrionn shared on Friday, indicating ongoing efforts to expand her presence and music.
Ten years after her inaugural track release, Sherrionn is experiencing her most successful year yet, as she discovers diverse opportunities. Her association with Chop Squad Records, helmed by Chicago rapper and producer Young Chop, led to her debut mixtape “Honey Trap.” Her first single’s music video, “Body,” has garnered over 430,000 views on YouTube since its May 19 launch, showcasing Sherrionn’s flair for dance through seamless choreography.
Sherrionn’s alluring vocals are enhanced by Th3 Ink Factory’s ambient and bass-rich production, evident in “Body” and the mixtape as a whole. Having first been exposed to R&B greats like Bobby Caldwell, Luther Vandross, and The Emotions during nap time in kindergarten, Sherrionn recalled discovering her singing talent early. “My mom found me singing,” she said, a talent nurtured through choir from elementary school to high school.
The music video for “Slow,” filmed on Chicago’s South and West Sides, has accumulated around 120,000 views on YouTube since its August 2026 release. At Crete-Monee High School, Sherrionn honed her classical singing; however, she has since ventured into a blend of R&B, pop, and hip-hop influences.
Despite initial hopes, Sherrionn’s journey affirmed music as her true calling, as other pursuits never sustained her interest. In 2019 she obtained an audio engineering and recording arts degree from the now-closed Tribeca Flashpoint College. After brief time in Atlanta, Georgia, she returned to Chicago to engage with the local music scene, resulting in performances at Lollapalooza and Sofar Sounds in the Pilsen neighborhood.
Her high-energy set in Grant Park on July 31 featured a daring stunt unachieved during practice, reflecting her best performance yet. “I did a split in the air,” Sherrionn recounted. While larger stages captivate her, intimate shows, like at Sofar Sounds, offer audience connections and a digestible stage presence. “I love settings like that,” she expressed.
Beyond her musical skills, Sherrionn utilizes platforms like TikTok, with approximately 174,000 followers, to promote her music. Valuing the established online community, she acknowledged social media’s impact on her music engagement.
In her multifaceted career, Sherrionn aims to appreciate each moment while progressing continually. “I’m ready to grow,” she concluded, highlighting her eager pursuit of new achievements.
