Rod Stewart Pauses Tour After Coronary Stent Procedure

Rod Stewart, the iconic singer, has paused his ‘One Last Time’ farewell tour following a coronary stent procedure. A representative confirmed Stewart’s departure from the tour schedule after a series of postponements and cancellations. Among these was the cancellation of his planned performance at Rocket Arena in Cleveland on a recent Tuesday night.

The cancellation followed a postponed concert at the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, which cited ‘an unforeseen but minor medical procedure requiring prompt attention.’ Earlier in the year, Stewart canceled several dates, including performances in Las Vegas and San Diego.

According to a statement from Stewart’s publicist, ‘After further medical evaluation, Sir Rod Stewart successfully underwent a routine coronary stent procedure. Doctors are pleased with his recovery. Rod is doing well and has returned to his daily activities.’ The statement further noted that, based on medical advice, Stewart will take four weeks to recover fully before resuming performances.

Stewart, who is 81 years old, was scheduled to perform in North America until September 3. The tour included a six-night residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, alongside several dates in Mexico.

In the statement, Stewart expressed his appreciation for the medical team, saying, ‘I’m already feeling better and on the mend. I thank the doctors, nurses, and everyone who’s cared for me.’ He also shared his disappointment about missing shows but emphasized his eagerness to return to performance soon.

Stewart has had a monumental career, becoming a rock ‘n’ roll legend with his distinctive voice. Over the years, he has sold millions of records and has two inductions into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, known for hits like ‘Maggie May’ and ‘Tonight’s the Night.’
