This scrutiny comes alongside a revelation from the New York Post regarding a request by Omar’s congressional staff in 2019 to amend her birth year in public biographies, sparking questions about her path to U.S. citizenship.

On Monday, agents from Homeland Security Investigations conducted a raid as part of an ongoing inquiry. Omar counters these investigations as an intimidation campaign against her, initiated by political opponents. She maintains that her citizenship was granted through her father’s naturalization process in 2000, before she turned 18.

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro disclosed a separate review of Omar’s financial disclosures, which showed a stark increase in the value of businesses associated with her husband, Tim Mynett, between 2023 and 2024. Omar amended these disclosures in April to adjust for business liabilities, leading to a reduction in reported assets.

The Office of Congressional Conduct recently recommended dismissing misconduct allegations related to these disclosures, finding no substantial violations of federal law or House rules. This ongoing financial probe is reportedly distinct from the inquiry into her immigration documents.
