Former child actress and OnlyFans model Renee Olstead is reportedly playing a significant role in the gubernatorial campaign of Wisconsin state Rep. Francesca Hong. As reported by The Heartland Post, Olstead, also known as Renee Faust, takes on the position of deputy campaign manager. Hong, a Democratic socialist, is among the candidates competing in the upcoming Democratic gubernatorial primary.
It has been mentioned that Olstead has been involved in campaign operations since at least January. Her social media bio states “HONG 4 GOV” and directs followers to Hong’s get-out-the-vote page. Her account also includes photos from campaign events. Additionally, The Heartland Post highlights her involvement in coordinating logistics for events featuring notable figures like streamer and political commentator Hasan Piker.
The campaign for Francesca Hong provided a statement to Fox News Digital but did not answer specific questions regarding Olstead’s title, her starting date with the campaign, whether she’s a paid employee, or her qualifications for the role.
Hong’s campaign described Renee Faust as a licensed mental health clinician dedicated to supporting trafficking survivors. They emphasized her contributions to developing what they claim is the largest grassroots campaign in Wisconsin’s history. The campaign criticized right-wing figures for attacking her, tying those critiques to broader political disputes over women’s health care.
Olstead had previously founded the Coalition for American Sex Workers (CASW – LOCAL 304), advocating for policy changes and decriminalization related to sex work. Last year, she was recognized by the Wisconsin State Assembly, with an official citation acknowledging her advocacy efforts and her selection as “Penthouse Pet of the Year” for 2024.
There was no direct response from the campaign regarding questions about Hong’s decision to present the citation to Olstead or the purpose behind that recognition. Francesca Hong has pursued legislation focusing on decriminalizing adult prostitution and creating a bill of rights for sex workers.
Criticism of Olstead’s involvement with the campaign was expressed by Wisconsin Family Action, a conservative advocacy group. They questioned the choice of leadership within Hong’s potential administration.
Hong previously showed support for progressive ideas like abolishing the U.S. Senate and defunding the police, although she has recently tempered some of these stances in pre-primary interviews. Facing competition from Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, former Administration Secretary Joel Brennan, and State Senator Kelda Roys, Hong has also addressed past controversies, including a call to “cancel Thanksgiving” due to its colonial history. She has since clarified her position, stating her affinity for Thanksgiving.
