Nevada’s Lt. Governor Stavros Anthony Aims to Transform Nevada’s Entertainment Landscape with Space Tourism

Nevada’s Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony plans to invigorate the state’s entertainment sector through space tourism. With Elon Musk’s significant business interests in Nevada, a collaboration may not be far-fetched.

Anthony’s career is diverse. He spent nearly three decades in law enforcement, served as a regent in higher education, and was a long-time Las Vegas city councilman. His political journey includes a spirited run for mayor and, since 2022, serving alongside Governor Joe Lombardo. Together, they led a Republican victory over incumbent Democrats, a unique feat nationwide.

At the FreedomFest in Las Vegas, Anthony discussed Nevada’s economy, his career, and the upcoming 2026 elections, which are expected to be highly contested.

“Nevada is now a hub for entertainment, thanks to a business-friendly environment and a mild regulatory approach,” Anthony stated.

He highlighted the rapid growth of professional sports and expressed keen interest in space tourism. “Las Vegas offers a unique potential for tourism. It’s up to the industry not policymakers, to dictate what’s next. Space tourism is a promising venture. With vast open lands, we offer a potential launch site for entrepreneurs like Elon Musk to engage in space travel.”

Anthony credits his experience in law enforcement for his political problem-solving skills. “Policing is about solving community issues, not always high-speed chases and arrests. This experience taught me to focus on enhancing citizens’ quality of life as an elected official. Lowering taxes and regulations is key,” he explained.

President Trump’s endorsement of the Lombardo/Anthony administration, particularly the “no tax on tips” policy, could influence future elections significantly. “President Trump has shown support for our governance. His impact in Nevada through such policies has been favorable,” Anthony remarked.

Anthony’s values are deeply rooted in the principles instilled by his immigrant parents from Cyprus. “They taught me the importance of hard work, independence, and financial prudence. Relying on oneself rather than government support was crucial, and I apply these principles in my public service,” he shared.
