Maryland deputies reported an incident involving Ashley Andrews, 30, who was arrested following a confrontation at a Taco Bell in Chester, MD. During an argument over delayed food service, Andrews allegedly challenged employees to meet her outside, lifted her shirt to reveal a handgun, and placed her hand on the weapon’s grip.
On June 18, authorities were called to the scene after employees reported the incident. The Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff stated Andrews became irate over the wait time and issued a threat to staff, suggesting conflict in the parking lot before disclosing the firearm.
Upon arrival, deputies detained Andrews and another involved individual. A loaded weapon was found in Andrews’ possession, corroborating the employees’ story as supported by surveillance footage and an employee’s video recording.
The event took place at the Kent Town Market shopping center along Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Law enforcement’s investigation revealed Andrews lifted her shirt to display the handgun during the argument with Taco Bell workers.
Following her arrest, Andrews faced charges including second-degree assault, carrying a handgun, disorderly conduct, and reckless endangerment. She was initially held on a $5,000 bond, later posting bail for release the next day, as per Law&Crime reporting. Authorities banned Andrews from returning to the Taco Bell location.
Andrews, represented by a public defender, has requested a speedy trial with a court appearance set for July.
