Nationwide Recall of Pasta Products Due to Listeria Risk

Pasta sold at Walmart locations across the United States is being recalled because of potential listeria contamination. This information was released by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

New York-based Gias Foods announced a recall of two lots of bettergoods brand Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine. These products have been distributed nationwide in Walmart stores.

The affected fettuccine is found in frozen 22-ounce packages with the UPC number 194346442706. The lot numbers are L6079C or L6080C, and they have expiration dates of September 19, 2027, or September 20, 2027.

This recall was prompted following a routine sampling program conducted by the Washington State Department of Agriculture and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

The testing revealed that the bacteria potentially present in the product could pose a health risk. As of now, no illnesses related to the consumption of the affected product have been reported.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), symptoms of listeriosis can manifest within two weeks of ingesting contaminated food. These symptoms include fever, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, seizures, and flu-like symptoms such as muscle aches and fatigue.
