Nate Smith, the country music star, has transformed his life through significant weight loss. He revealed that shedding over 70 pounds has improved his well-being. Before, Smith struggled with simple tasks that left him out of breath. Now, he enjoys a renewed sense of vitality.
Setting New Goals
During an event in Nashville, Smith shared his fitness goals with People magazine. Weighing around 275 pounds previously, he aims to reach 185 pounds again. His motivation stems from wanting to perform at his best for his fans.
Smith emphasized the importance of maintaining high energy levels on stage. “Keeping the energy on stage and making sure I do that because I think that takes care of the fans,” he explained. Smith also expressed satisfaction with his new wardrobe options. “This is a large. I’ve been double X for the last five or six years, so I’m feeling really good,” he noted.
Positive Changes
Smith highlighted the numerous benefits of his weight loss. “I don’t sweat anymore, which is amazing,” he shared. “I used to be totally out of breath tying my shoes.” His improved health allows him to move more freely.
Following a health scare in 2024, Smith tackled issues like overeating and excessive drinking. By adjusting his daily caloric intake, he lost nearly 50 pounds within months. “I still struggle with some binge eating,” Smith admitted. He aims to treat certain foods like mac and cheese as occasional treats rather than everyday choices.
Despite not achieving his ultimate goal yet, Smith feels much happier with his progress. “I’m not even close to my goal. But I’m way happier where I’m at, and I feel like better about the way I look,” he shared.
