Logan Paul Faces Setback After Successful WWE Tag Team Championship Defense

4 weeks ago 0

Logan Paul, alongside Austin Theory, retained their WWE Tag Team Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Fort Wayne, Indiana. They defeated The Street Profits in an intense match lasting over 16 minutes. The conclusion saw Paul incapacitate Montez Ford with brass knuckles, enabling Theory to secure the pinfall.

During the match, Ford sent Paul over the top rope, risking a dangerous fall. Unfortunately, Paul’s impressive victory was overshadowed by reports of an injury. Initially, there was uncertainty about the severity of the issue, impacting Paul’s progression in WWE, where he has garnered attention since joining in 2021.

On Monday, it was confirmed by WWE commentator Michael Cole on Raw that Paul suffered a torn triceps. This injury will sideline him for months. Despite Paul’s polarizing role, his ability to adapt to wrestling techniques and his engaging promos have been vital to his WWE journey. Prior to teaming with Theory, Paul held the WWE United States Championship for 273 days.

Paul’s recent match was part of a developing feud with newcomer Joe Hendry, who released a song titled “Fire Logan Paul.” While recovery implies Hendry’s rivalry with Paul won’t escalate soon, they may clash with Paul’s stablemates, The Vision. In the latest Raw episode, Theory confronted Hendry, possibly igniting a temporary feud. Moreover, WWE announced Bron Breakker would join Theory as the new Tag Team Champion.

Despite this setback, Paul appears resilient. If absent from WWE programming, he can focus on recovering. In addition, he has numerous ventures outside wrestling. For further coverage on WWE and professional wrestling, consider visiting Newsweek Sports.
