Lamar Jackson’s Status for Upcoming Game Uncertain Due to Ankle Injury

1 hour ago 0

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson might miss his second consecutive game because of an ankle injury. The Ravens have not yet confirmed the absence of the two-time NFL MVP, but with the game against the Cleveland Browns only three days away, his participation seems unlikely.

On Thursday, Jackson was absent from practice. Jeff Zrebiec from The Athletic mentioned that the 29-year-old’s situation for Sunday appears quite clear. The Ravens lead the AFC North with a record of 4-1. However, the Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and Pittsburgh Steelers closely trail at 3-2.

Facing the Browns is crucial as it precedes a Week 7 home match against the Bengals. These games mark Baltimore’s initial AFC North clashes of the season. The team’s only loss this year occurred in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints, who currently hold a 1-4 record.

Jackson, a Louisville product and four-time Pro Bowler, has faced injury challenges in recent years. He missed five games in both the 2021 and 2022 seasons and four last year. This fall, Jackson has achieved a league-leading 119.6 passer rating. He completed 68 of 96 passes totaling 967 yards, scoring six touchdowns and conceding one interception. Additionally, he ran 19 times for 144 yards with one rushing touchdown.

Ravens fans are well-acquainted with backup quarterback Tyler Huntley. He played his first four NFL seasons with Baltimore before starting five games for the Miami Dolphins in 2024. Huntley returned to the Ravens in August 2025.

The 28-year-old undrafted player has a 67.1% completion rate in his career, with 3,476 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions across 32 regular-season games, including 17 starts. In a recent “Sunday Night Football” overtime win against the Atlanta Falcons during Week 5, Huntley went 24-for-32, throwing for 201 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
