Bert Kreischer’s Perspective on Crafting a Simple Yet Delicious Burger

31 minutes ago 0

Comedian Bert Kreischer knows quite a bit about creating a memorable burger. His approach to crafting the perfect burger is remarkably straightforward. He believes that the essence of a great burger lies in simplicity rather than extravagance.

Kreischer expressed his views candidly in an interview before he was set to host the Burger Bash at the New York City Wine & Food Festival. According to him, a burger doesn’t need to be elaborate. His preference leans towards a buttery, toasted brioche bun with American cheese and classic toppings.

“I’ve got to be in a mood to have a raspberry jam and goat cheese on a burger,” Kreischer stated.

Kreischer’s passion for burgers extends beyond comedy. During his cooking show, Something’s Burning, he honed his skills in making smash burgers to the point that he ate them for every meal.

“I got so good at making smash burgers that I went through a smash burger phase where I was having them for breakfast, lunch and dinner,” he recounted.

Though he eventually cut back on his smash burger consumption, Kreischer holds a special favor for the burger experience at Guy Fieri’s burger bar on Carnival cruise ships. He appreciates the generous portion sizes, the ability to include double patties and cheese, and the customizable toppings available.

Kreischer, in preparation for his Fully Loaded at Sea comedy cruise featuring a live taping of Something’s Burning, expressed his willingness to prepare burgers for cruise-goers if a Guy Fieri burger bar was on board.

Currently, Kreischer is concentrating on the Burger Bash event, where some of the leading burger creators will vie for bragging rights. Although he has many ideas about what constitutes a winning burger, he is relieved to host the event rather than judge, as he did earlier this year at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival.

For Kreischer, the finest burgers are not necessarily the most daring in taste. Sometimes a perfectly cooked patty with melted American cheese and a toasted bun is sufficient to satisfy.
