High Demand for Knicks’ NBA Finals Tickets at Madison Square Garden

3 weeks ago 0

The first NBA Finals game at Madison Square Garden this century could become one of the most sought-after tickets ever. The New York Knicks, pursuing their first championship in 53 years, will host Game 3 of the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999.

Historically, Knicks games come with a hefty price tag, but this event surpasses previous expectations. At the time of writing, the cheapest entry-level ticket on SeatGeek is listed at $9,990, with only two available options falling below $10,000. Meanwhile, the most affordable 100-level ticket on StubHub costs $13,115. This makes it the priciest NBA game to date.

Data from the New York Post and SeatGeek reveals that the average ticket price for Finals games at Madison Square Garden (Games 3, 4, and 6) is $7,149. This figure breaks the previous record of $1,965 set in Dallas in 2024. Only Super Bowl LVIII in 2024, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, had a higher average ticket price at $10,497.

President Donald Trump has confirmed his attendance at Monday’s game. The Knicks’ win in Game 1 against the San Antonio Spurs on their home court heightened the demand for tickets, intensifying the Finals excitement. If the Knicks secure a victory in Game 2 on the road, prices may soar further as they return with a potential 2-0 lead.

A digital billboard outside Madison Square Garden featuring Knicks guard Jalen Brunson emphasizes the prevailing excitement, declaring, “This Train is Not Stopping.” The Knicks, who have been crowned the 2026 Eastern Conference champions, are making their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999.

Game 2 is scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m. ET.
