Hasan Piker Warns of Establishment Opposition After Wisconsin Primary

He remarked that the ‘knives will be out’ for the socialist faction of the Democratic Party. This statement followed the loss of Wisconsin state Rep. Francesca Hong in the Democratic gubernatorial primary. Hong was defeated by Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley.

Piker’s Concerns

During his livestream, Piker argued that the Democratic establishment aims to curb insurgent candidates. He believes they are more aware of the progressive movement’s strength now. Piker had joined Hong and Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., at a campaign rally in August. He views Hong’s defeat as a signal for socialists who want to leverage recent primary wins.

“It will be more difficult, though, because the establishment will not underestimate us. It will continue to undermine us, but they will not underestimate us,” Piker stated. “So, the knives will be out.”

RNC’s Response

In reaction, RNC national spokesperson Natalie Baldassarre critiqued Piker’s statements in a message to Fox News Digital on Wednesday. She urged Democrats to distance themselves from Piker.

“Hasan Piker is a Hamas-hugging radical with a long history of threatening rape and violence against those he disagrees with. Democrats would do right to disavow him, but they’ll continue to bend to his will like spineless, useful idiots,” said Baldassarre.

Primary Dynamics

The Wisconsin primary highlighted a clash between the party’s socialist left and its traditional coalition. Francesca Hong, a Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) member, had support from notable figures like Reps. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Ro Khanna, D-Calif., and former Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner. Wisconsin DSA chapters also backed her campaign.

Initially, Crowley left the race but soon reentered with endorsements from retiring Democratic Gov. Tony Evers, the Professional Firefighters of Wisconsin, and various local officials.

Post-Election Views

David Crowley emerged as the victor, thanks to consolidating establishment support, including Tony Evers’ endorsement. After the loss, Hong distanced herself from Piker during a July interview, saying that appearing on his stream didn’t mean she endorsed all his views.

Meanwhile, Spencer Pratt, a former Los Angeles mayoral candidate, joked about the DSA’s reaction to Hong’s loss. “Beetlejuice Bob isn’t take the Hong loss well,” Pratt commented on X. “The DSA are freaking out that everyone is realizing Emperor Mao here has no clothes.”

Piker claimed Crowley’s victory was not disastrous. He forecasted that Crowley would defeat Republican Rep. Tom Tiffany in the upcoming election.

“Crowley still, if he wins, is going to defeat Tom Tiffany. And that’s a good thing. OK, I stand on that,” Piker noted.

Election Delays

The primary results were delayed due to ‘human error’ reported by Milwaukee election officials. Five out of nine memory sticks delivered contained audit logs rather than election results. This mishap occurred after an election worker pressed the wrong button.

Fox News Digital contacted Hong, Crowley, and the DNC for comments but did not receive immediate responses.
