Florida Man Arrested After Suspected Human Remains Found

1 month ago 0

Authorities arrested a Florida man after uncovering suspected human remains on a Marion County property. This discovery occurred during the investigation of his father’s disappearance.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office reported the investigation began on May 16. Family members noted that 43-year-old Andres Bahamon-Prada had been missing since May 7 and lived with his 25-year-old son, Andres Bahamon, in Dunnellon.

Investigators found evidence suggesting foul play in Bahamon-Prada’s disappearance, leading them to treat the case as a homicide. Andres Bahamon was arrested in connection with his father’s disappearance.

“Texas couple arrested after the body of a special needs son, 26, discovered buried in the backyard,” reported a related incident.

The arrest affidavit revealed that Bahamon claimed he last saw his father on May 7, suspecting an unknown person would pick him up. Shortly after, Bahamon-Prada’s silver 2007 Infiniti M35 went missing and remains unlocated.

The victim’s mother suspected foul play, alleging her son killed Bahamon-Prada, stating he described his father as “an evil person” and a “junkie.” Investigators found shattered glass, a bullet casing, suspected bloodstains, and disturbed dirt at the Dunnellon property.

Authorities also discovered Bahamon allegedly sent a photo of a deceased man resembling Bahamon-Prada. The image showed the man near wooden steps with a red stain by his head and shirt.

A search warrant allowed detectives to find a rolled carpet buried beneath disturbed dirt on the property. It emitted a decomposition odor, as mentioned in the affidavit.

Authorities have yet to confirm the identity of the remains found. Bahamon was charged with tampering with evidence, suspected of concealing the body to impede the investigation.

Authorities continue to search for the missing silver 2007 Infiniti M35, believed to hold evidence relevant to this case. The sheriff’s office urges anyone with information to contact them at 352-732-9111.
