A tragic accident occurred early Sunday morning in Mundelein when a man crashed his vehicle into a brick structure, leading to his death. The Lake County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 31-year-old Lukas Beelow, a resident of Mundelein.
An autopsy revealed that Beelow died from blunt force trauma, according to the coroner’s office. Mundelein Police received a call at approximately 2:08 a.m. reporting a loud noise in the vicinity of Chevy Chase Road and Hawley Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Beelow’s SUV had collided with the structure.
Authorities pronounced Beelow dead at the scene. Both the Mundelein Police and the Major Crash Assistance Team are conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
